I greet you all in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, 

More than two decades ago, this extraordinary District Association was organized by Pastor Nathaniel Randle and a few other Pastors that were like minded and that had the desire to build better churches. It was born out of love, dedication and divine inspiration.  Its main purpose was to glorify God, teach and unify His people to be committed and faithful to His word.  Through Christian Education we strive to win souls for Christ that we all may become better stewards on this Christian journey.  We have enjoyed the benefit of being under the leadership of Dr. William H. Foster Jr. for the past six years, and we thank him for his work and for receiving us to be a part of the Baptist General State Convention.

By God’s grace, and His Divine will, we will grow in number, in spirituality, in love, and in unity.

The scripture tells us. “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”   2 Peter 3:18

Our purpose remains the same.  Our focus is Jesus Christ.

I am sincerely honored, humbled, and proud to serve as Moderator, I am committed to devote every effort to the work that is before us. By God’s grace we will continue to be diligent in developing disciples and building healthy churches for His Kingdom.

Our Mission

The South Shore Baptist District Association, which is voluntarily associated with Baptist organizations such as the Baptist General State Convention of Illinois and the National Baptist Convention, U.S.A., Inc., is a union of Baptist Churches, their pastor, and members.  This union was formed for the purpose of promoting evangelism, home missions, foreign missions, Christian Education, benevolence, and programs and activities recognized as Christian in the Baptist Faith, essential to the growth of Christian principles and goals, and consistent with the instructions, admonitions, and principles of the Holy Bible.

The SSBDA is an affiliate of the

Baptist General State Convention of Illinois,  Inc.
